What is in it
- One row per cost code: original budget, approved change orders, actual, open commitments, forecast to complete, projected final cost, variance.
- One place to enter your labor burden %, so labor is counted at true cost instead of bare wage.
- A separate log for extras done without a signed change order.
- A 5-question weekly check.
- A closeout page that splits the overrun into extra scope you were paid for, original-scope drift and change-order drift.
How to read this. The cost definitions follow public construction accounting references (Procore, Deltek, Foundation Software, CPA-firm job-costing guides). It is a management worksheet, not tax, GAAP or accounting advice. All example numbers are made up. Formulas checked in LibreOffice and Google Sheets, not yet in desktop Excel. If a formula breaks on a real job or a term is wrong, please say so.
